Hi Tessa!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It is a pleasure to answer your first question!
You can most definitely split your stay between two Disney Resort hotels. I have just returned from a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort and this is exactly what we did to satisfy the preferences of my daughter and husband. I also love that Disney takes care of transferring your luggage from one resort to the other so this transition is very smooth.
In your case, I highly recommend staying first at
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort to make your sports-savvy son happy, and then spending the second portion of your visit in a Little Mermaid Standard Room at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort so your little girl can also enjoy mermaid magic. This resort is one of our favorites, and both your son and daughter will love the Finding Nemo, Lion King and Cars sections, as you are welcome to explore the resort grounds and pools.
I personally enjoy visiting in early February, but weekdays in early October are also a good option. What I like about October is that you can enjoy
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Christmas Party. I believe your kids will love the party, as the whole family can dress up, go trick or treating and enjoy exclusive shows, parades and fireworks.
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tessa! I hope this helps you while planning.
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
