My 8yr old son has a heart condition that wears him down. We wanted to get him a scooter for our upcoming trip, but it looks like most of them are made for adults. The rental comp. does not allow children to rent/operate scooters...any ideas?

The scooter rental is more about safety...My son had a debilitating condition that was very serious. We went to a local pharmacy and rented a youth wheelchair.  The luster wears off quickly when his arms tire out.  Most of attractions are accessible by a scooter or a wheel chair.  It sounds like he is mobile enough that he could walk up the ramps and transfer at the attraction.  It isn't always necessary, but I would bring documentation of his condition because in the event there is an episode with his heart, the paramedics would be better able to help him.  Now, this is sort of cheeky funny.  When my son was in a wheelchair, I went to the dollar store and bought a bike/clown horn.  When people were about to step in his path he would honk his horn and wave.  It worked quite well.  The age of 8 a stroller is just not what I would do...but thats always a possibility.  I hope this helps.  Good luck!! Have fun!!
