    My 4yr old son absolutely loves haunted mansion. We are planning a trip in august 2022 and want to be sure the haunted mansion will not be closed for the holiday overlay. When is the haunted mansion scheduled to close in august 2022?

    Hello there, Jennifer and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for visiting us as you prepare to visit the Happiest Place on Earth this summer. 

    I myself am a foolish mortal and I can't get enough of Disney's Haunted Mansion attraction. I love to hop in a Doom Buggy and visit Madame Leota every time I step inside Disneyland Park. You are correct that the Haunted Mansion closes for a time as Jack Skellington and his Halloweentown crew come to deck the halls for Haunted Mansion Holiday. While the Disneyland Resort has not yet announced the dates for the closure of this beloved attraction, I can speculate based on past years' closure dates that it will likely close in mid-August. In 2021 the Haunted Mansion was closed for this frightfully festive overlay beginning August 16. 

    I hope that those dates will work out for a chance for your son to experience one of his favorite attractions. In the meantime, he might enjoy the "Behind the Attraction" episode on Disney+ that is dedicated to Disney's Haunted Mansion. I found it to be informative and really fun.
