Greetings, Crystal! Hooray! A whole new world of attractions just opened up for your son. I remember when my daughter hit the 40" mark and we celebrated that day like it was her birthday!
For safety reasons, all Guests whose heights seem close to the height restriction will be measured each time they enter an
attraction and they may be measured twice. Sometimes our daughter was measured as we entered the attraction queue and again right before we loaded the attraction vehicle. Your child will need to pass both of these measurement checks in order to ride. It's important to discuss with your child how to appropriately be measured at the parks. Have him practice, with his shoes on, standing very straight with both heels against a wall. Let him know that it's a good thing if his head "bumps" against the measuring guide. Some kids might think they have to duck underneath and that would result in an inaccurate measurement.
If your son likes thrill rides like my daughter does, then he will be excited to know that he can now ride attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, and Radiator Springs Racers! He will even be able to ride the new
Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction if you are attending the parks after May 27, 2017.
Please return to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any other questions about traveling with your little one. You guys are going to have so much fun!!
