My 11 yr old is obsessed with finding secrets of DW. We were on a ride in Magic Kingdom /Tomorrow land, calledThe people mover. A cast mem. told us that the alien in the Salon scene came from an old ride. Do you know the name of that ride? PLEASE HELP!

    Hi Kimberly,

My family and I love the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom.  There is just something so relaxing and fun about the tour above Tomorrowland!

I did some searching, and I was not able to find anything about where the alien in the salon scene came from.  I do have some interesting tidbits about the salon scene and the ride overall, though, which might be interesting for your 11 year old.  In the salon scene, you can look for a hidden Mickey in the lady's belt buckle.  The panel which controls the salon is also a hidden Mickey.  The attraction was originally called the WEDway PeopleMover.  WED are Walter Elias Disney's initials!  The attraction uses emission-free linear induction motors, and the acceleration comes from magnets.  This makes it quite environmentally friendly.

I hope that your 11-year-old finds some of these tidbits interesting, Kimberly.  Uncovering the "hidden" side of Walt Disney World attractions is a lot of fun. Please do come back and ask if you have more questions!
