We are in FL with my 75yr old MIL. We weren't planning to go to WDW, but now we are! My MIL walks w/ a cane, but can't go long distances. I know we can rent a W/C in the MK, but need the best way to get from parking to MK? We don't have a handicap placard.

    Hi Amanda,

How fun to make a spur of the moment visit to Walt Disney World! I have traveled several times with family and friends with mobility issues. When you enter the Magic Kingdom parking lot there will be attendants directing you where to park. Politely ask them to park close to the end of a row because of your mother-in-law's difficulties. If you are at the end of a row, you will be close to the tram that will take you to the Ticket and Transportation Center. The walk to the monorail does include some uphill walking, so if that is difficult you might want to take the ferry. Once you are at the Magic Kingdom you can rent a wheelchair or scooter.

Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to get from the parking lot to the park. Stop if needed for her to catch her breath.

    Wishing you a magical visit,
    Amy H.
