My 10 yr old gets frightened easily, I'm worried when she sees the characters she will scream and cry. We have explained they are just people in costumes. How or what can I do to ease this experience and overall make it a happy time for her and my 6 yr.

    Hi Traci!
Some children are surprised by the size of these friendly characters and others don't feel comfortable greeting them. Showing your kids videos or pictures of other children greeting the characters might be a good way to show them there's nothing to be afraid of. Visit the Let the Memories Begin section on the Disney Parks website where many guests have posted their video and photo memories of character experiences that are wonderful.
Once at the parks, you could try greeting characters like the Disney Princesses or Peter Pan whose faces are exposed. This might make your kids feel a bit more comfortable. The best thing to do is be patient because some kids are afraid to greet the characters at first but, after a few days of seeing mom or other Guests getting close for pictures and autographs, the fear might go away.
Hope this helps and have a magical vacation!
