Hi! My 3 yr old and I will be doing our first ever Disney Cruise later this month on the Wish 9/29 - 10/3. I know there's trick-or-treating but wanted to know more about what that looks like and what I need to bring and where it takes place.

Ahoy, Ashley! Welcome to planDisney and your very first Disney Cruise Line vacation. Halloween on the High Seas is the best way to earn your sea legs! There is so much adventure awaiting you on board. I know you must be getting so excited with only a few weeks before you set sail.

Trick-or-treating on the Disney Wish is one of many spirited celebrations awaiting you on your cruise. I appreciate you asking this question because I had looked into these spooky itineraries before our Halloween cruise, but I did not get the details on this event. It is fun, but it is quick. On my cruise, this activity lasted about 20 minutes. We were coming back from time at the Port and would have arrived a bit earlier had we known.

If you have not already, download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. On shore, you can see your reserved Port Adventures and other tools that help you plan. Once you are on your cruise and connected to the ship's wi-fi, the app automagically changes to its onboard mode. Under Daily Activities, you will see when and where you can find trick-or-treating. Usually, it is on the pool deck (Deck 11), but it can crypt up anywhere. The Navigator app will be your guide.

You are welcome to bring your own treat bag, but if you don't have no fear! They will have them lurking around on board.

You can see all of the activities offered by day on the app. I mark the heart next to the ones I want to do so the app will send me reminders before that activity begins. It helps when my mind is in "Cruise Control" mode and loses all track of time (as it should).

I have a few recommendations from my experience. Join the festivities in the Grand Hall. Our cruise started with a storytelling night by the tree. It put us in the spook-tacular mood that we carried throughout the cruise.

Most importantly, review the documents you will need to have on hand when checking in at the port. Without these, your adventure will end before you venture beyond the reef.

And there will be more to do than time on the ship. It's a reality of Disney Cruises. Use the app to view all activities and entertainment, and pick your priorities. Know there are things you will have wished you could have done. You will understand why people love these and become repeat cruisers. There is so much magic on board!

Ashley, I hope you have a magical time. If you have any other questions, please cruise back by planDisney. We're happy to help you with smooth sailing ahead!
