    Hi Penny!

I'm so happy you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. There are many wonderful services offered at Walt Disney World for those who have hearing disabilities. I am always amazed at how Disney meets the needs of every single Guest and, as the mother of a special-needs child, this is one of the things I love about Walt Disney World.

Keep in mind that many Disney Characters (such as Mickey Mouse) actually do not speak at all so in those cases, your child will get the full experience of meeting them. Some--such as the Princesses--do speak, though. You may occasionally run into one who does know a little sign language (although it is not a requirement) which would be amazing! I will keep my fingers crossed that this might happen for you while you are there. Rest assured, your little prince will feel included and loved no matter which of the Characters he meets. They are all amazing with children and are used to interacting with them. He will love it!

Please come back if we can do anything else to help you with your planning. I'm excited for your upcoming visit--your first time! I know this will be just the beginning of many wonderfully magical memories you will make at Walt Disney World.

    Have a great day!
