Hi, Lisa!
I love that you are planning so early for your trip to Walt Disney World! Go, you! :-)
Any meal at
Tusker House Restaurant will be memorable, but it's super-special when you visit during Donald's Dining Safari at Breakfast and Lunch. (Heck, anytime we can sneak in a delicious meal at WDW AND a Character Experience at the same time, we are doubly happy!)
I would take a look at the park hours for the day on which you are planning to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, then book your breakfast reservations for about
1 hour after the park opens. Be at the park gates when the park opens and head directly to Expedition Everest (what a great coaster!); the line shouldn't be too long at this point, as many Guests will tend to linger at The Oasis near the entrance. By the time you've waited in line and exit, you'll need about ten minutes to walk over from Asia to Africa; the path won't be too crowded since it's still so early and you are in the "back" section of the park. If you head in later, you'll need more time between the attraction and your reservation.
Thus, if AK opens at 9 a.m., you should be able to plan your breakfast for 10 a.m., as long as you are at the park entrance at park open. Keep in mind that if you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you qualify for
Extra Magic Hours. If you plan your trip accordingly, you could be in WDW when there is an a.m. Extra Magic Hour at AK; this would allow you to enter the park an hour early, so your EE ride could actually be an hour earlier...and so could your breakfast.
Send more questions as you plan this great 2014 trip to WDW, Lisa; we love to help!
