My 3 yr old daughter has a restricted diet. She eats 4 small meals a day that are a powder usually used by patients thru a feeding tube. It is mixed with tomato sauce or jello for her meal. Can we bring her food into the park? Can we bring in food for us?

    Hi Sanda,

You are welcome to bring food for yourself or your daughter with you into the parks. The only rules are that you can't bring glass containers or alcohol into the parks with you. However, if the only way that your daughter's medically necessary foods can be transported is in glass, I'm sure that arrangements could be made to facilitate this.

You may want to familiarize yourself with the baby care centers in each park. These are a quiet oasis for families with young children, and often for families of special needs children. The baby care centers have a full kitchen area that you could use to help with food prep and washing of your supplies. There are also first aid centers in each of the parks where you could store any medication that requires refrigeration.

For more details on the bring-your-own-food situation, I'm going to point you over to an independent website called DisneyFoodBlog.com and an article called "13 Questions and Answers About Bringing Your Own Food to the Disney Theme Parks." You may find some helpful hints there.

Another good resource for you might be a book called, "Passporter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World." This title costs about $20.00 and is available from Amazon.com and major bookstores. Open Mouse gives loads of information about visiting Walt Disney World with medical challenges.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if we can be of more assistance.
