Dear Tracy,
Thank you so much for stopping by the
Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm so sorry to hear your daughter went through a challenging time recently. Do not worry about her not enjoying her vacation to the fullest, Disney has her back!
The
Walt Disney World Resort has a firm commitment to ensuring that all guests have the best experience during their vacation. As part of this commitment, there are several accommodations in place that your daughter could take advantage of, the most comprehensive being the
Disability Access Service, which allows Guests with either temporary or permanent disabilities—as well as those in their parties—to schedule a return time at a specific attraction that is comparable to the wait time when they first arrive at that attraction. As soon as your daughter and her friend finish one attraction, they will be eligible to receive a return time for another. The best thing is that this service can be used in addition to the
FastPass+ service.
How does one get a DAS card? The guest must appear in person at Guest Relations (located near the entrance of each of the
four theme parks) in order to fill out a form and discuss their unique situation, then, the DAS card will be issued and given to the guest. Minors are expected to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. I am afraid you will not be able to simply drop her off at the gate.
Mom Tip: Let me suggest that you get the DAS pass at the first theme park. If you need special assistance in the meantime, just speak to the closest Cast Member and explain the situation, they will do anything in their power to provide you with any personal accommodations you may require. If you need more detailed information regarding this service, please visit this link, call (407) 560-2547, or send an email to Disability.services@disneyparks.com
I wish
your daughter and her friend a memorable time together! Please come back with more questions whenever you can.
See ya real soon!
~Desiree
