Does a 3 yr old child get a card for admission at the gate?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Laura, Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your question. I'm thrilled to assist you! How exciting that yo are planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort! You are sure to make amazing memories with your kids at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

To receive admission to the theme parks, you will need a valid Walt Disney World Theme Park Ticket. All guests age 3 and older require a valid Walt Disney World Theme Park Ticket to enter the theme parks. Once you've secured your tickets, next you'll need to consider your entry method. MagicBands are my favorite choice. Worn on the wrist, these bands serve as your all access pass to the wonders of Walt Disney World. When linked with the My Disney Experience App, your MagicBand functions as your theme park ticket. While MagicBands are convenient for park access and extras such as Lightning Lane Entrances, they are not your only option.

My son, however, does not like the feel of anything on his wrist so he ops not to wear one. If you choose not to get a MagicBand for your 3 year old, Disney MagicMobile Service is a great alternative. This service is a feature of the My Disney Experience app. This app feature offers quick and easy access to the theme parks and Disney Resort hotel amenities through an eligible iPhone, Apple Watch or Android phone. You will be able to use Disney MagicMobile Service to enter the theme parks (with valid admission), link Disney PhotoPass images to your Disney account, check in at virtual queue and Lightning Lane entrances.

Another alternative is to get an admission card for your 3 year old at any Walt Disney World park ticket window. Be prepared to show your ticket confirmation email, the credit card used to make the purchase, and a valid photo ID. We have used them in the past and my kids loved using them to make Mickey turn green at touchpoints. They also feature different character designs and make great souvenirs.

I hope this information helps you prepare for an exciting visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Laura! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Have a Magical Day!
