Hi Lisa! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am so sorry to hear about your son's broken femur! I'm sure that makes it much harder for him to get around, but I can't think of a more magical place to cheer him up. I know you will still have a wonderful vacation!
Just a few months ago, my friend was in a situation where she needed to use her stroller as a wheelchair while vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort. She visited
Guest Relations as soon as she arrived at the theme park and inquired about this. She was given a tag (similar to a luggage tag sticker) that was placed on the stroller to show that it was being used as a wheelchair and was able to be taken in line for attractions. I suggest you visit Guest Relations upon arrival to the theme park to explain your situation and ask about receiving this tag identifying your stroller's use as a wheelchair during your vacation. The Cast Member assisting you can give you all details related to this service.
Should you decide to
rent a wheelchair during your visit instead, you can rent one in the theme parks for $12 per day, or purchase a length of stay rental that lowers the price to $10 per day. If you have any other questions about these accommodations, you can call Disability Services at (407) 560-2547.
I hope this helps with your last-minute preparations, Lisa! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
