Hi, Amanda. Thank you for stopping in here at planDisney.
I feel for you. As the mom of a young adult with special needs, I know that the challenges of pandemic life are multiplied and amplified for those of us who need to meet the unique needs of our children. Though you and I may be far apart in distance, I see and appreciate your efforts.
As of now, the
facial covering requirement remains in place at Walt Disney World. Masks are required for all people over the age of two; no exceptions are being made for those with extenuating circumstances. As you surmised, postponing your trip might be the best option right now if the mask requirement will impede upon your family's enjoyment. Though that may not be the news you were hoping for, I can assure you that some things are worth waiting for.
I do hope that conditions improve soon so that we can discontinue the use of masks. Do you follow the
Disney Parks Blog? It’s a great resource for staying up to date on the latest news out of Walt Disney World. I recommend keeping an eye on that as well as the
Walt Disney World homepage for timely information about
health and safety measures.
I hope that helps, Amanda.
