My 11yr eats from kids menu but when Book reservation he is charged as an adult, then at restaurant since he order from the kids menu, I have to pay again? So I'm paying for an adult meal plus a child meal? Please help - any ideas? Thank you!

    Hey Regina-

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. When my oldest reached that magical milestone of 10 and became a “Disney Adult” we were concerned about meals on the Disney Dining Plan. This is not the first or last time a 10 year old Disney Dining Plan Guest will not want what is on the adult menu. Here is what we have done in the past with great success.

Our servers always ask if we are on a Disney Dining Plan. We tell them we are and we have three adults and one child (4 people in my family). We explain to the server that he did not want any of the adult entree selections before my son makes his kids meal selection. We kindly ask the server for a larger-sized portion of the kid’s meal selection. The server is more than willing to arrange this order. We have not had to pay anything extra and this super-sized kids meal was counted as one adult meal credit. My son was even more thrilled with the larger adult-sized dessert. Meal Ordered. Food Eaten. Dessert Devoured. Tummy Full. Mission accomplished!

The best part for us as parents is the availability to choose from both menus. So as his tastes change he will be able to chose from the fabulous dishes all over Walt Disney World Resort.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories!
