Hi Aena!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney! A Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your one year old promises to be full of magic and wonder. I have fond memories of traveling with my older boys at that age and am eagerly awaiting taking my youngest on his first trip to the parks very soon!
Getting around Walt Disney World Resort with an infant or toddler, may seem like a daunting task, but there are a number of options that you can consider to ultimately make the choice that is best for you and your family. Renting a car is not necessary while staying on property thanks to the
complimentary transportation you'll enjoy while at Walt Disney World Resort. Depending on which resort you are staying at, you may access busses, water transportation, Disney Skyliner, or the monorail to get to the various theme parks. If you are looking for even faster point-to-point transportation around Walt Disney World Resort, you could request a
Minnie Van Connected by Lyft. These special Minnie Mouse inspired rides do cost extra and are ordered through Lyft. Included in the price of the Minnie Van is one complimentary car seat. The only thing you would need to plan for ahead of time would be your transportation to and from Orlando International Airport. Mears Connect is one option that offers bus service to your resort (at an additional charge) which can be booked ahead of time through their website. Your little one would not need a car seat to use this bus service.
While I have not personally rented a car before on property, there are some who may be more comfortable using their car seat from home and being able to navigate the parks without using Disney transportation. If you prefer to rent a car during your stay, you'll be happy to know that guests of
Disney Resorts Collection hotels enjoy
complimentary parking both at their resort and at the theme parks!
Aena, however you and your family decide to travel around the Walt Disney World Resort, I hope you have a wonderful visit! I'd like to share that we have some great videos from my fellow panelists in our
planDisney Video Library for tips on traveling with little ones that you may find helpful. Please stop by and see us again at planDisney with any other questions you may have!
See ya real soon,
Kristi
