Hi Julie! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Oh boy! I'm excited about your upcoming stay at the
Walt Disney World Resort! With all the new additions that have recently opened or are coming soon to
EPCOT, you are going to have a great time when visiting this park. I'm happy that you have added Space 220 Restaurant to your itinerary. This out-of-world (enter silly pun) experience is definitely worth the journey into space!
Some of the restaurants at Walt Disney World, including
Space 220 Restaurant, are fixed-price menus for adults and children. As a once fussy-eating teenager myself, I completely understand wanting to stick to the kid's menu as long as possible. While your son will not need to worry about his meal during your upcoming visit, he is now considered a "Disney adult". This means he will most likely be charged the adult price, but he will be able to order anything off of the children's menu! I have seen certain restaurants take this into account and serve a larger portion of the kid's menu item to help justify the cost.
If you are looking for some other recommendations on dining, there are some great locations that are perfect for all types of eaters.
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria, located in the Italy Pavilion at the World Showcase, serves pizza, pasta, and a variety of other Italian dishes. It's the perfect place to share an extra-large pizza for the entire family to enjoy. My oldest daughter is tough when it comes to anything food-related, but this restaurant is a win every time! Also, give 50's Prime Time Café a try at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Your kids will remember this location for more than just the family-friendly menu offerings. The theming of the entire restaurant and the Cast Member interactions will leave you with an experience you will not forget.
Julie, I hope you have a magical time during your upcoming stay!
