Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Shemia. Thanks for stopping by to chit-chat with me about your upcoming vacation. Your trip to the
most magical place on earth is only a few short days away. I bet you are getting so excited!
Shemia, it is unfortunate that you weren't able to reserve the same
Walt Disney World Theme Park for your entire family. But, you have a really great backup plan in place. However, there are few things I want to mention that way you all can have a great day together. First, in order for you and your daughter to reserve at a different park and then join your youngest at Magic Kingdom Park later in the day, you both will need to have a park hopper ticket. Park hopping is where you can visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. For you guys to be able to visit Magic Kingdom Park after 2:00 p.m. you both will actually need to scan in and enter the theme park with the
park pass reservation first. Then, you all can continue on to other theme parks later in the day when park hopping hours have started. Scanning in at the park with the park pass reservation sort of "activates" the park hopper pass each day. This is why the park hopper pass is important for you two to have.
Before upgrading tickets or trying to figure all of that out, Shemia, I'd try reaching out to a Guest Relations representative. The easiest way to do this is via the chat function on the
MyDisneyExperience app. If you don't already have that downloaded, I highly recommend it. Once you have it downloaded you can log in to your MyDisneyExperience account. Then, select the menu icon which looks like the three blue horizontal lines on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. This will bring up a menu and you'll want to scroll down until you see the "Chat With Us" option. When you select that you'll be placed in the chat queue. What's nice about this is you can actually leave the app and then have a push notification sent to you when it's time for you to chat with a Cast Member about your issue. I'd just explain the situation and ask if there is any way for you all to have the same park pass reservations for the day. Sometimes they can see or have access to availability that we don't. I've actually gone through the same scenario myself and using the chat feature was able to get everything all switched around. Now, of course, this isn't always a guarantee but it's a great place to start.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions about this or anything else, please
reach back out to me. I'm here to help.
Have fun!
Jackie H.
