chEARs Todd!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I can’t think of a better place to recover from surgery than at the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I appreciate that you all are paying close attention to doctor’s orders!
You can rent
ECVs daily at each of the Parks, but they are first-come, first-serve, and must stay in the Park in which they were rented. If you have a car at Walt Disney World, you can drop your daughter off in a designated drop-off area so that she doesn’t need to make the walk from the
parking lots. You can also take advantage of the Disability Parking Lots, which are a short distance from the entrance to each Theme Park.
Disney also has a list of
Featured Providers that will do most of the legwork for you. Most offer drop-off and pick-up at your Resort hotel, and they all provide length-of-stay rentals. One of my best friend’s husband recently had back surgery, and when they visited Walt Disney World with us, they rented from Buena Vista Scooters. They had a fantastic experience, and I’ve heard only good reviews about them.
Once you hit the Parks, you will need
this list of attractions. This will help you all navigate which rides she can remain in her ECV, and which she will need to transfer from. Consider stopping by Guest Services to discuss the
Disability Access Service. It is designed to help
Guests with disabilities manage their time if they aren’t able to tolerate being in lines for an extended period.
Todd, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. I hope your vacation is just what the doctor ordered!
