Hi, My youngest daughter will be celebrating her 10th birthday and my husband and I are celebrating our 18th anniversary. I'm afraid my thirteen year old daughter will feel left out of the celebrating. Any ideas to make the trip extra special for her too

    Hi, Susan!

I just got back from Walt Disney World with my 13 year old, and I have one word of what makes a teen happy in WDW:  SHOPPING!

Perhaps get her a gift card that she can buy something special with:  a necklace, earrings, or a fun Disney tank top (my daughter found 2 really cute tanks that she 'had' to have!)  Some fun stores for your teen can be found in Downtown Disney.  We always make a stop at TrenD which has some great items, or the jewelry room in the World of Disney has tons to look at!

Another idea would be to have her celebrate something, too!  Is she getting her braces off?  Did she get wonderful grades on her report card?  Maybe scored the winning goal at a soccer game?  Or maybe she just finished the 7th grade!  Whatever the occasion, pick-up a free "I'm Celebrating" button and a friendly Cast Member will be happy to write in her special occasion.

There is enough magic for everyone in Walt Disney World, so your whole family can celebrate.  Happy Birthday to your youngest princess and Happy Anniversary to you and your Prince Charming!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
