Ahoy, Traci!
First, let me start by saying how happy I am to hear you're in remission from leukemia. What a wonderful feeling that must be, and how blessed you must feel! On the other hand, I extend to you my deepest sympathies regarding the loss of your son. I understand why you feel your family needs a break, and a Disney vacation might be exactly what you need.
It sounds like you're ready for a vacation where you can escape from reality, have some fun, and relax. That combination is why I'd recommend a Disney Cruise Line vacation for your family. On a Disney Cruise, there are lots of activities for guests of all ages, and you can do as much or as little as you like! You can choose to stay busy from morning to bedtime, or you can simply relax and soak up the sun.
Your granddaughter will have access to the amazing
Youth Clubs (included in the price of the cruise) on the Disney ships. Highly trained Youth Counselors make sure that each and every young guest feels safe, happy and entertained during their time in the clubs. While she enjoys the Oceaneer Club, you can spend some time visiting the spa or relaxing at the Adults-Only Quiet Cove pool area. Now, doesn't that sound refreshing?
My family loves visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, and enjoy the attractions and thrill rides, but cruising with Disney is our favorite way to spend a vacation. It's all the magic of Disney, with VIP treatment, personalized customer service, and plenty of time to relax. Sometimes after a visit to the parks, I feel like I need a vacation after my vacation!
I hope my viewpoint helps with your decision. I truly hope that your vacation, whichever you choose, provides comfort, happiness and wonderful memories for you and your family. Please let us know if we can help as you plan your Disney getaway!
Have a wonderful Disney day! - Diane W.
