I have a young adult with severe mental limitations and health concerns, seizures one of several. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how we can make our disneyworld vacation easier, safer, and more productive?

    Hi Wade!

First of all, I would make sure to talk with their doctor prior to their visit to make sure that any questions you have about their safety or condition is answered before your trip.

Secondly, I'd stop by Guest Services at any of the parks (as soon as you enter) and request a Guest Assistance Card (GAC).  If you describe the kind of accommodations they will need during the trip, the Cast Member will be able to note those on the card.  They'll also explain to you how the card can help you with navigating the parks and queues.

Third, I suggest...and always suggest to any person traveling with medical issues...be aware of the First Aid locations in each of the Theme Parks.  They are noted on the park maps, and are staffed with nurses that can assist you.  Most importantly, contacting any Cast Member (in an urgent situation) will help expedite care if needed.

In my opinion, Walt Disney World scores the highest marks in this area (guests with medical issues), as they've always been extremely accommodating and helpful.

    Have a magical vacation!
