Our 10yos has downs, tires very easily, yet likes to be independent. We are trying to decide on renting a wheelchair or not. Is it possible to ask for one just while waiting in line? Or if we rent, can we park it somewhere for the morning? Thanks

    Hello, Christa!

Your determined Mouseketeer sounds a lot like mine! My little guy tires easily and needs assistance to tour the Walt Disney World Resort, but doesn't let much stand in his way when visiting the theme parks!

Wheelchair rentals are located inside each theme park and at the Downtown Disney Area. Rentals are on a first come, first-served basis and must remain inside the area where they are rented. You can choose a daily rental option or purchase a Length of Stay rental ticket, which saves you a few dollars each day. Keep mind that there is a limited supply and only adult wheelchairs are available, so I suggest arriving early to secure a wheelchair for your Mouseketeer.

Once you rent a wheelchair, it is yours for the day. I have seen some Guests park their wheelchairs in the stroller parking area while they experience attractions such as Prince Charming Regal Carrousel or Seven Drawfs Mine Train while other Guests bring their wheelchairs with them everywhere. Most queues are wheelchair friendly, so you should not have an issue navigating one through.

If you find that your Mouseketeer needs additional accommodations, simply head over to any theme park Guest Relations Lobby.  There a Cast Member will be able to help you based on your family's specific needs.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. I hope you make many magical memories with your family!
