    Hi Lisa,

I am so excited to answer your question because this is the first one I think I have ever answered for a guest from Alaska!  Thanks for posting it to the Moms Panel.

There are plenty of things for teenage girls to do on lengthy plane rides.  Are your girls readers?  If so, be sure to bring a fun novel for each of them or perhaps some entertaining fashion magazines that suit their taste.  That will consume hours of their time.  It would be fun if you were to bring one of the many wonderful Walt Disney World planning guides with you on the plane.  Ask the girls to read the descriptions of each of the four Disney theme parks and make a list of their "must see" attractions.  Then find the maps for the parks and ask them to plot out a logical plan of attack for each day.  This is a great way to build anticipation for the fun that lies ahead.  I'm also a big fan of journaling on family vacations.  Buy each of the girls an attractive new journal.  Have them record their thoughts about the experience so far as they embark on this exciting family adventure.  I guarantee they'll look back on those journals years from now with great fondness.

Hopefully, you will also find yourself on one of the newer planes that offers television monitors in the backs of the seats in front of you.  It is well worth the investment of less than $10 to rent a movie that the girls haven't yet seen.  Sometimes the movies or television programming is even free.  Just be sure to bring a set of headphones for each member of your traveling party.  Some airlines charge for these.

Have a safe journey and a truly magical vacation at Walt Disney World!
