Hiya, Tiara! Welcome to
planDisney! You’re less than a month away from your trip to the
Happiest Place on Earth. You must be so excited! I love that you’re planning at this level of detail! Let’s take a look at the specifics of your backpack.
First of all, the final decision is always up to the friendly cast members at the security checkpoints. Let’s see what the
park rules say about acceptable backpack dimensions. Backpacks must be under 24" long, 15" wide, and 18" high. The dimensions of the specific backpack you mentioned are 15.3” long, 9.9” wide, and 18.1” high. That .1” got you. Technically, your backpack is outside the parameters. If you choose to try to get it through security, just be understanding that the final say is with the security guards, and they are following specific guidelines and may ask you to take the backpack back to your car or room. It’s really hard to say how specific the cast member will be, especially with a backpack that seems like it may push down smaller than the listed height. Please just be prepared either way.
I should also point out that the rules state that “Loose or dry ice is not permitted in these containers. Reusable ice packs are recommended.” Not sure if that impacts your planning, but it is important, as the security guard will look inside the backpack to review its contents.
Tiara, you’re in for a treat!
The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run just launched a new mission, featuring Mando and Grogu, a couple of days ago. My planDisney pal
Kimberly got to experience the new mission and said that it’s out of this world! There are even
new controls for the various positions in the Falcon. There are also a ton of new menu offerings in Galaxy’s Edge! I can’t wait to try the
Bounty Bun with Spiced Beef and Pork at
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo!
Also, you’re coming to the parks during a great time of year! All the amazing nighttime spectaculars will take place on the day you arrive.
Fantasmic!,
Paint the Night Parade,
Wondrous Journeys, and
Tapestry of Happiness are all so magical! If you’re only in the parks for one night, you may need to prioritize, as it’s difficult to see them all in one night. Check the
Hours & Events Calendar page for show times to plan which shows you can see!
Tiara, I hope you have the most magical time on your trip. In case you were wondering, Crystal Arts on Mainstreet, U.S.A. sells tiaras, only for royalty such as yourself. If you have any other planning questions for us, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney!
I hope you have a magical day!
