Hi Kelly!
Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
You are correct that
runDisney likes to recognize and honor their "legacy" runners at different events. Generally, they begin acknowledging such runners at an event's fifth year and usually make note of these runners every year going forward with special bibs, gifts and other items. Special anniversary race weekends (10th, 15th, etc.) usually call for a bigger celebration.
I just returned from the
2018 Princess Half Marathon and there were over 200 "Perfect Princesses" in attendance at the race. This was the 10th anniversary of the Princess Half, so that is very impressive!
In order to be a legacy runner, you will need to have registered for and completed every single race since the inaugural run. That sounds like a good reason to sign up for more events!
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
