Hiya Michael - welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Walt Disney World Resort vacations!
Currently,
Park Pass Reservations are required to visit a Theme Park, along with valid admission from a Theme Park Ticket or Annual Pass. If you have the Park Hopper Option added to your pass or ticket, you will start your day at the park where you have a Park Pass Reservation, and then starting at 2 p.m. you'll be able to hop over to any other available parks. This means that if you have a Park Pass Reservation for Magic Kingdom Park, you'll need to enter Magic Kingdom before hopping to another available park after 2 p.m. later that day. Thus, you would not be able to pass through EPCOT in the morning without having a Park Pass Reservation for EPCOT.
If you're hoping to get to Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning, and want to avoid a potential wait for complimentary bus transportation, I suggest trying out the new
Disney Minnie Van Service, powered by the Lyft app. This is a great way to speed up your morning with private transportation directly to the entrance of Magic Kingdom Park from the porte cochère of your Resort. While this service does require a separate fee, many Guests (including me!) have found it to be a worthwhile update to our normal plans. In fact, we love it so much that we've started including Minnie Van rides in our budgeting plans for all of our future Walt Disney World Resort trips!
Since you're staying in the EPCOT Resort Area, I hope that you'll be spending some time at EPCOT. Be sure to check out the brand-new
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind rollercoaster, and you'll also be visiting during the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival - enjoy!
