What can my 12 years old grandson do as a "special" day event? Too old for pirates etc. We're going late September 2012.

Is your grandson into animals, Judith?  If so, the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom might be just the thing to treat him to an extra-special activity.  It is open to guests ages eight and above.  The Seas Aqua Tour is another special experience open to guests ages eight and over.  Taking part would give your grandson the opportunity to swim with over 6,000 sea creatures!  Or, perhaps, a horseback riding adventure is more his style; forty-five minute guided trail rides are available at Fort Wilderness.  Hopefully, one of these {pirate free!} activities will strike his fancy.  Have a great time!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
