Hi, years ago at a main street shop, you were able to select a Disney characters from a book and then the resident artist would paint it for you. From the painting a small reproduction was made that was put on a watch face. is this still done?

Hello, Arthur! I always love to see a fellow Washingtonian stop by planDisney! A very warm welcome to you!

Thank you for stopping by to ask this very special question about the Artist Watch Program on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park.

For many, many years, this delightful program allowed Guests to personally work with an artist who would draw and personalize different Disney characters, to then have the creation inserted onto a watch face. Guests would receive both the original piece of art along with the watch that they purchased. Incredible!

Unfortunately, the Artist Watch Program was retired in 2012 and is no longer available at Disneyland Park.

If you're looking for other customized souvenir experiences with an artist, Arthur, consider stopping by Crystal Arts, also on Main Street, U.S.A., to personalize glassware that can be engraved while you wait. Another option, which is a cherished keepsake for my family, is a custom hand-cut silhouette portrait of a sweet face or favorite Disney pal at the Silhouette Studio. (Temporarily unavailable at the time of this writing, but worth looking into on the date of your visit.) The skills of these artists are absolutely amazing! I have no idea how they create something so detailed so quickly!

Or, lastly, in Downtown Disney at Kaman's Art Shoppes, Inc. Letter Brush Art, request a customized watercolor painting with your name (or the name of a loved one). Each letter is created to look like or represent a Disney movie or Disney character. They are so beautiful.

I hope I was able to provide some helpful information for you, Arthur, on how to bring home a piece of the magic! As you continue to prepare for your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, don't hesitate to come back and ask me another question! I'd love to share more of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical time in Disneyland, like maybe where to find seasonal treats or some strategies to make sure you hit all your top priorities.

Above all, from the bottom of my heart, I wish you the most magical visit, Arthur!

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
