Hiya Daniel,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful memory in your love story. One of my favorite parts about being a planDisney panelist is being a part of the magic of your story, and I’m honored to be able to help today. I’m also so excited for this next chapter in your life, and I wish you a very happy ever after!
Next, let me say that your proposal idea is incredible. I’m sure your girlfriend will love it, and having a tangible memento from the day is the cherry on top of the best day ever. Every time I visit the theme parks, I see at least one caricature artist at the theme parks, resort hotels, and/or Disney Springs. When I was at Walt Disney World last time, I did see a caricature artist near the France Pavilion in
EPCOT, but there have also been times when I’ve seen one elsewhere in the World Showcase (or not at all). The location and availability can change, especially due to festivals or availability, so your best bet is to check in at EPCOT Guest Relations when you get to the parks to confirm where you may be able to find one for your proposal.
If you don’t have your heart set on getting a caricature at EPCOT, my fellow panelists and I have also spotted artists near
The Art Corner in Disney Springs,
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom, Beach Club Resort, the Contemporary Resort, and Wilderness Lodge. There have also been some reports of sightings at Hollywood Studios on Sunset Boulevard and in Animal Kingdom near the Tree of Life. Similar to EPCOT’s offerings, the location can change, so be sure to check in with a Cast Member at the location to pinpoint precisely where you can find an artist.
I know you probably have it all planned out, Daniel, but I would love to share an idea for how to make your proposal even more special.
Happily Ever After Fireworks hold such a special place in my heart. I remember holding my Prince Charming’s hand in the pouring rain on Valentine’s Day while the show lit up the sky above us and my whole heart swelling when it first debuted. Flash forward to our recent trip when I saw him holding our now 2.5-year-old daughter in his arms as she marveled at the fireworks. If you choose to get your caricature done in Magic Kingdom, I suggest getting a fireworks dessert party for your proposal (I say
seats and sweets since it will give you a little more space to propose), then as the finale crescendos and the lights in the trees are twinkling you can present the drawing and propose.
I hope this was helpful, Daniel. Please come back and see us if you need anything else. I am sending you all the pixie dust that your proposal is “practically perfect in every way.”
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
