Hi Tiffany!
Your Disney Cruise Line will be here SO SOON and I know you must be so very excited about it! My family just disembarked from a three-night sailing on the Disney Dream this morning and I am already looking forward to another opportunity to sail with Captain Mickey.
The Castaway Cay 5K is one of my favorite events offered when we visit
Disney’s Castaway Cay! Not only do I get to get a great workout in and a sense of accomplishment by running a 5K in the humid Bahamian environment, but I also feel like I earn that piece of banana bread when I have lunch at Cookie’s BBQ later that day! Oh, and the finisher’s medal gives me bragging rights with my running friends back home! In fact, we ran it yesterday – in the rain – and it was still just as much fun and even that much more memorable! Thankfully the weather cleared out and we were able to enjoy a sunny day at the beach – and that banana bread!! Try it; you won’t regret it! The minimum age to participate in the Castaway Cay 5K is ten-years old, so your six-year old won’t be able to participate this time around. But, you can check them into the island’s Youth Club, Scuttle’s Cove, for some fun activities while you participate in the run. Once you’ve completed your run (or walk), you can pick them up and head to the beach for some family fun! But, based on all the fun that happens in Scuttle’s Cove, they may want to stay there – and if that is the case, make your way to Serenity Bay, Castaway Cay’s beach reserved exclusively for adults. Registration for the Castaway Cay 5K is done once onboard, at Guest Services and will secure your race bib.
Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea, Tiffany!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
