Hey, Beth!
I have a 10-year-old who also loves learning about animals, and Walt Disney World Resort has so many wonderful opportunities to do just that. Here are a few suggestions that might appeal to your animal lover:
1.
Become a Wilderness Explorer at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: My kids love completing challenges to earn badge stickers for their Wilderness Explorer Handbook! Each hands-on activity teaches kids something new about animals, and when you earn all of the badge stickers, you become a Senior Wilderness Explorer! If you don't complete all of the challenges in one visit, you can continue exploring on your next trip.
2. Try the
Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: This three-hour guided tour will offer you up-close views of some of the theme park's amazing animals, including giraffes and rhinos. You will tour by foot, by safari vehicle and even by rope bridge! You'll have African-inspired snacks along the way, and a portion of your fee is donated to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
3. Dive into the
Epcot Seas Aqua Tour: If your son loves marine animals, you may want to splurge on this tour at Epcot where you can snorkel with over 6,000 sea creatures, including sea turtles and sharks. This one is on my list for this summer!
In addition, if there's a particular animal your son is interested in, take a look at the
Disney Animals page to see where you can learn more about that animal.
I hope you and your son have a wonderful adventure!
