A year in the planning, Disney World February next year. We will have a a 1 year old Birthday Boy. When making dining reservations, do we count him when asked how many are in our group? Also, pros and cons bringing our own stroller.

    Hi there, Tammy!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I can't wait for your little birthday boy to experience the Most Magical Place on Earth! We took our son at this age, and we made so many wonderful memories together. He rode countless attractions, met so many Characters, and even started enjoying some classic Disney snacks. (His favorite was the famous Dole Whip!) Even though your little one will not require a park ticket at this age, you will need to include him in your count when making reservations. This allows table space for him to be seated in a high chair even if he isn't ordering off of the menu.

I think a stroller for infants and toddlers is absolutely essential at the theme parks. We always bring our own, because we know our son is comfortable napping in it, it has ample storage and cup holders, and it has a deep recline and large shade to block out the Florida sun. Some people prefer not to travel with their own stroller and rent one while on property at the parks. These rentals are good for an entire day or length of stay but can only be used within the theme parks and not in the hotels or Disney Springs. This is another reason why I love taking our own since we can use it throughout the entire trip, including the airport.

Since you have a little one who may need some privacy for feeding or changing, I wanted to let you know about the amazing Baby Care Centers located in each of the theme parks. You can also purchase any infant essentials you may have forgotten as well. They are a great place to get away with your little one for some privacy and quiet at the bustling theme parks.

I hope this helps. Have a Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah day!
