Hello, Kareena!
Welcome back to planDisney. It is almost time for your cruise! Yay! Have you started packing yet? I am a notorious over-packer! I try to use the
Disney Cruise Line packing lists to help me focus on the essentials (well, most of the time...sometimes a girl just needs another pair of shoes!).
Port Adventures are Disney Cruise Line's version of excursions. I recommend starting with the list of
Port Adventures that are still available for your specific cruise, as many
Port Adventures fill up long before the departure date. You can do this on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or the
Disney Cruise Line website under "My Plans." Details about Port Adventures in The Bahamas can also be found on the
Port Adventures page.
One family-friendly Port Adventure in The Bahamas is the
Atlantis Aquaventure, which includes water slides, beaches, and other water activities. Although kids cannot use the water slides until they are at least 48 inches tall, they can play in Poseidon's Playzone water playground and enjoy the Aquaventure river systems. The
Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day is another fun option for the entire family! Guests ride a double-decker ferry to this tropical private island to play in the ocean, participate in beach games, and eat a delicious lunch.
During my family's last Disney Cruise, my family actually stayed on the ship while docked in The Bahamas. We spent part of the day enjoying the pools and the
AquaMouse water slide, and then my kids hung out in
Disney's Oceaneer Club while my spouse and I enjoyed the adult-only areas. It was a perfect day to relax and explore the ship with fewer Guests on board!
Kareena, have a wonderful voyage! We hope to see you real soon!
Happy sailing!
Jen
