Hi 'Moms' !! I have 9,7 and 4 year olds. Please help me 'plan' a vacation good for all their ages, like best place to stay, what parks, rides, meal plans/restaraunts to visit. I am planning on about 5-6 days in WDW. Thank you!

Hi, Cynthia!  You are smart to seek a great plan for a Walt Disney World (WDW) vacation! I always tell my friends and family that the best use of your time and vacation budget is to do your homework, make detailed plans but hold your plans loosely anticipating magical memories which will last a lifetime.

For you and your crew, I recommend sitting down with a guidebook to discover all there is to do on a Walt Disney World Vacation for your age children. Sadly, I wouldn't be able to scratch the surface to tell you all you need to know with the limited amount of room here.  Birnbaum's has a great guidebook, and touringplans.com produces the annual Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. Plus, Doug on the Disney Moms Panel has written a book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World. Those books as well as many websites can arm you with much more information than I can possibly provide you with on this forum.

One of the greatest things about planning a WDW vacation is that there is something for everyone and everyone's wallet! I'm not sure if you place convenience over price or vice versa. However, my family and I prefer to be close to the parks. Therefore, my recommendations are The Contemporary for close proximity to the Magic Kingdom; the Yacht & Beach Clubs for easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios; and Animal Kingdom Lodge for a short commute to Animal Kingdom.  If Downtown Disney is your hot spot, I like to stay at Saratoga Springs or one of the Port Orleans resorts.

Once you have decided on your resort, please feel free to write back with more questions about parks, plans and dining. I'd love to help! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
