I have a 7 year old, a 3 year old and a 4 year old. I want to stay in a moderate resort with a great pool area that has some of the shortest rides to and from the parks. I can't make heads or tails out of the data when comparing resorts! Help!

Hi Carolyn!  There is so much information to digest when deciding where to stay for a Walt Disney World vacation!  I will try to help you narrow some of your options down with the following information.

There are four moderate resorts with similar pool areas that offer slides and adventures.  When you jump to the deluxe resorts you will find even more themeing with their pools. At the Caribbean Beach resort you will find a basic pool in each of the village areas with one great pool with a caribbean theme in a common area. The guests at Port Orleans resorts can share an use either the Ol' Man Island or the Doubloon Lagoon which comes complete with alligator head showers, slides formed from creature's tongues, and clam shell fountains! Coronado Springs resort guests can enjoy smaller pools or the Dig Site with a Mayan theme and a 123 foot water slide!

The distance between the parks and Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, Caribbean Beach, and Coronado Springs are all very similar. If one resort has shorter time to one park then it most likely will take a few extra minutes more to another. Below are some approximate park transportation times from the resorts.

    Magic Kingdom:
    Port Orleans:  17 mins
    Caribbean Beach:  15 mins
    Coronado Springs:  18 mins

    EPCOT:
    Port Orleans:  26-34 mins
    Caribbean Beach:  12 mins
    Coronado Springs:  13 mins

    Hollywood Studios:
    Port Orleans:  14-18 mins
    Caribbean Beach:  12 mins
    Coronado Springs:  13 mins

    Animal Kingdom:
    Port Orleans:  26-30 mins
    Caribbean Beach:  23 mins
    Coronado Springs:  20 mins

Also remember that the Port Orleans resorts are connected via boat shuttles to Downtown Disney so that is an added perk for staying in this area.
