If my 17 year old is going with another 17 year old and she does not have a government issued ID, can she show her school ID or passport, or does she not need one? This is for the socal residence pass.

    Hi there, Christine!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney! I’d be happy to help clarify this for you.

I think it is wonderful that your family has taken advantage of the California Resident Ticket Offer. Wow, the kiddos grow up so fast! One minute, they’re being pushed in a stroller, demanding another churro. Then, before you can blink, they’re off on an adventure of their own at the park.

I have great news for you, Christine! All guests 18 and over must have a valid, government-issued photo ID with a qualifying address to enter with the California Resident Ticket. Therefore, your 17-year-old does not need to worry about showing an ID during their upcoming visit! Also, since they are over the age of 14, they can enter the park without an adult — so no worries there either! Please ensure that you verify the policy before their visit, as it is subject to change.

No matter when they go, there are plenty of events happening to enjoy! Notably, the Disneyland Resort 70th celebration is continuing throughout both parks until August. There are even new foods and treats to try right now!

Christine, I hope this helps and that your child has a wonderful time on their upcoming adventure. Also, sending virtual hugs to you if this is their first time going off on their own. While my child is still young, I can understand how new this can all feel. They’re going to have a blast!

Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
