Does my 2 year old and 1 year old need to scan in to rides with genie + ?

    Hi Robyn -

Thanks for stopping by planDisney as you start to think ahead to your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation!  Can you taste the churros yet?  As my friend Princess Tiana would say, you're "almost there!"

The youngest Mouseketeers visiting Walt Disney World Resort (those under the age of three) are considered special guests of Mickey and are not required to purchase theme park admission.  As such, the children you are traveling with will not need to scan into rides with Disney Genie+ service since they are under three.  When you tap into the ride queue with your admission, they will be able to enter with you!  You'll also be happy to know that there are dozens of attractions and rides without height restrictions that they'll be able to enjoy.

I'm so glad to hear that you are already familiar with Disney Genie+ service.  It's a great way to save time in the parks so you can enjoy more rides and attractions in a single day!  I also wanted to share with you that Rider Switch is another tool available to you that may be handy during your visit.  Rider Switch allows you and the other adults in your party to take turns enjoying attractions that the little ones in your group may not be ready to ride quite yet.

In addition to the rides and attractions around Walt Disney World Resort, some of my favorite things to enjoy with my little ones have also been the character dining opportunities.  Two of my favorites are Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Garden Grill at EPCOT.  Character dining is very popular, so I'd encourage you to make your advanced dining reservations when your window opens 60 days before your arrival.

Robyn, as a mom of three, I know there is a lot to think about when planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation with young children.  You may want to check out our planDisney Video Library for additional information on traveling with little ones including topics like stroller rentals and packing your park bag.  If you have more questions, please stop by planDisney and see me or any of my panelist pals again in the future - we're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
