Hi, we would like to have both our 7 year old and 3 year 9 month old enjoy Captain Hooks Pirate Crew treasure hunt together. It says it's for 4 to 12 year olds. Will my almost 4 year old be able to go if he is fully potty trained? Thanks!

    Hi there, Matt!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited to hEAR that you have a magical vacation coming up!  You are going to love visiting the theme parks during the holiday season; all the seasonal decorations throughout the theme parks will really get you in the holiday spirit!  If you are at all on the fence about attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, I would highly recommend it!  My boys STILL talk about the Christmastime parade – almost two years later!

I am so excited about Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew at Disney’s Beach Club Resort!  It looks like a perfect opportunity for kids to enjoy themselves while parents get a bit of time to enjoy themselves!  While we have yet to visit the theme parks since it opened, a fellow panelist recently took her young son and was very impressed by the entire process and her son had a swashbuckling great time!  Unfortunately, they are pretty firm on their age requirements and children MUST be at least four years old AND completely potty trained to attend.  If you are still looking for a “parents night out”, I would highly recommend considering looking into Kids Nite Out, which is an independent babysitting service where you can book a sitter to come directly to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel and stay with your children.  We have used this service on previous trips, and it was not only a treat for us, but also for our boys!  The babysitter came prepared to entertain them with age appropriate activities and games and while completely optional, we granted the sitter permission to take our boys from our room to the recreational areas of the hotel where they got to watch a movie outside and have campfire s’mores!  And, when we returned, they were tucked in and asleep!

If your boys are destined to be pirates, you may also want to consider booking them a makeover at The Pirates League in Magic Kingdom Park!  My boys always love being transformed into swashbuckling pirates complete with an eyepatch and sword!  And, Mouseketeers as young as three can participate in this!

Wishing you a magical and memorable vacation, Matt!
