I am a 76 year old woman who won’t be riding any attractions—but will be assisting my son with the special care required for his 2 autistic children ages 5 and 8 years old to have a successful experience at Disneyland. Do I need a ticket to enter? Price?

    Hi there, Bobbi!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney. I am very excited to answer a question from a fellow Nevadan! Being just a hop, skip, and jump away from Disneyland Resort is one of the many reasons I love living in Nevada. It is so easy to hop on a plane or get in the car to head to "The Happiest Place on Earth"!

Theme Park Tickets and park reservations are needed for every Guest who enters one of the two theme parks at Disneyland Resort. Child Theme Park Tickets are available for kiddos between the ages of 3-9, and Guests who are 10 years old and above can purchase Adult Theme Park Tickets. You may be interested in the 3-Day Ticket Offer currently available on select days through September 26, 2024. It is a great deal if it works for you!

I am glad you will join your son and his family at Disneyland Resort. It is always helpful when my parents visit Disneyland Resort with my family and help with my kids. I am sure your son appreciates your assistance! Walt Disney created Disneyland Resort for Guests of all ages, and there are many experiences the entire family can enjoy. Some of my favorite attractions do not have height restrictions. This includes Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway in Disneyland Park. Over in Disney California Adventure Park, The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure, Toy Story Midway Mania!, and Pixar Pal-A-Round are fun options for most Guests (including special grandparents)! We also like to explore the Disney Animation Building in Disney California Adventure Park when my kids are hot or just need a break. I suggest downloading the Disneyland mobile app ahead of time to get familiar with the park maps. It is very helpful!

I do not know if this is the case for your grandchildren, but one of my kids is sensitive to loud noises found on some attractions. I bring a pair of noise-canceling headphones and a fidget toy to help minimize stress in those situations. The headphones also come in handy when going to the restroom, as the automatic toilets can be loud and unexpected. It looks like my planDisney pal Greg shared some helpful links for Guests with disabilities, which includes a Sensory Experience Details document with a lot of good information.

Bobbi, have a wonderful trip to Disneyland Resort! We hope to see you real soon!
