We want to take our 6 and 3 year old to WDW 12/7-12/12. Was about to book but just read Pop Warner Superbowl/Cheerleading is same week. Will this effect us w/ crowds, etc? Any idea where Pop group will stay? Would the next week be better? Thanks!

Traditionally, the crowd levels at WDW from the Monday after Thanksgiving to about five days before Christmas tend to be fairly moderate in comparison to the rest of the year at Disney.  However, I've been to Disney three times in December and each year I've seen the crowds continue to grow larger....

My most recent December trip was last year at the beginning of the Pop Warner football games, and I don't remember any larger-than-normal crowds except the fast pass line for Toy Story Midway Mania (but it's always loonnnggg!)  With Disney offering free dining like last year up until 12/17 (click here for details), there's probably not one week among the first three of December that will be better over the other, and  my favorite forecasting site, agrees.  Just keep in mind that the closer you get to Christmas, the larger the crowds will build.

As for where the groups stay, typically you'll see more of them at All-Star Sports (makes sense with the football games).  However, I stayed at Coronado Springs last year and I noticed several groups occupying its Ranchos section.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
