Hi Christi ~
I love to hear that your 15-year old wants to be an Imagineer! Just think, one day we could all be experiencing an attraction that they were a part of designing and bringing it to life.
Currently, the only way to guarantee that Guests can meet an Imagineer is dining with an Imagineer. There are two locations for Guests 14 and over to dine with an Imagineer.
The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney's Hollywood Studios offers lunch with an Imagineer. You can also have
dinner with an Imagineer at Cítricos at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Dining with an Imagineer at The Hollywood Brown Derby seems to offer more opportunities each month than the dinner experience at Cítricos. Theme park admission is required and not included for dining with an Imagineer at The Hollywood Brown Derby. I loved being able to listen and ask questions with someone that had firsthand experience working on some exciting Disney projects.
While it isn't with an Imagineer, I would highly recommend doing the
Backstage Magic Tour with your 15-year old. I have done this one several times and never get tired of seeing how everything works behind the scenes to make all of the magic come together for Guests onstage. This tour covers a lot of ground and includes a trip into the legendary “utilidor” tunnels at the Magic Kingdom! The Tour Guides are very knowledgeable and happy to answer lots of questions.
Don't forget to keep your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog. They often feature great videos of interviews with Disney Imagineers.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
