I have a 6 year old with type 1 diabetes. Carb info is really important. I cant find nutrition facts anywhere! Can you help? Even portion sizes are no where to be found. Help!

Hi Rebecca! I too have an insulin dependent family member so I can assure you blood sugar numbers can be managed at Walt Disney World.

My best tip is to always carry juice in your backpack. Being in the middle of a long line for an attraction with someone whose blood sugar is crashing with no available carbs on hand does not make for a favorite vacation memory. All the activity and walking tend to lead to lower blood sugars so monitor levels carefully. Prepackaged items such as snacks and some beverages do have standard nutritional labels at Walt Disney World, but you will find getting exact carbohydrate information on many menu items tricky. We use the Livestrong app to get a close estimate by looking up similar foods.

Chefs and managers in all the restaurants are always willing to talk with you and answer questions you might have about food items. Visit the Special Dietary Requests page for information about dietary requests. When making dinning reservations you may indicate food issues.

Please contact me if you have additional questions.
