We will be there with 3 year old twins in December 2010. Plan the whole day at AK. But it is looking tight to squeeze in all we want to see. If I were going to leave out the Pangnai Trek would I be making a mistake as long as I for certain saw the Maharja

Hi Amy, Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel!

I read your question and just had to answer it, as you are asking about two of my favorite parts of the Animal Kingdom. Our family considers the Maharajah Jungle Trek and the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail both to be "must-do" attractions. In fact, they are always highlights of our Animal Kingdom days. You'll see different animals on both walks.

The Maharajah Jungle Trek has the beautiful Asian tigers, the Komodo Dragon, bats, birds and more. It's definitely a great walk. You can pick up a "field guide" and the kids can try to locate the birds while on the Trek.

I think the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail is my favorite of the two. You will see amazing gorilla that are SO fun to watch from the outside viewing area. There's also a neat hippo area. In addition, the meerkats are adorable (think Timone from the Lion King).

We thoroughly enjoy both of these walks. My youngest just turned 6, but she's gone to Disney yearly since she was 3 months old. Her favorite attractions at the Animal Kingdom Park are: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids (must be 38 inches tall), the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, the Maharajah Jungle Trek, the Festival of the Lion King Show, Finding Nemo - The Musical, and Rafiki's Planet Watch area.

Hope this helps and please let me know if you need help customizing your Animal Kingdom day,
