Hello, Minienke, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so glad you stopped by to see us with this great question about planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
It sounds like you have quite an adventure in mind with your young one, Minienke! My son is also 9 years old now, and I can hardly believe it. I'm making an extra effort to treasure these years because the next thing you know, he'll be all grown up.
Since your travel party will be just yourself and your child, booking your room will be easy as pie!
Walt Disney World Resort hotel rates are based on double occupancy, or up to two adults in a room. You don't start to incur extra charges until you add another adult. To start planning your stay, just click on "Places to Stay" in the menu at the top of the Walt Disney World website. Then, choose your Resort category and input your dates, the number of adults and children in your party, and your child's age at the time of travel. You'll get customized results showing the rate for each Resort hotel with availability during your travel dates. And then comes the hard part - choosing one!
There are so many great reasons to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, Minienke, but the best reason is the location in the middle of all the magic! From
free Disney transportation directly to the Theme Parks or
Disney Springs, to the ability to make
FastPass+ selections up to 60 days in advance (other Guests only have 30 days), to
Extra Magic Hours when the Parks open a little early or stay open a little late, Resort hotel Guests have lots of amazing perks.
Minienke, Disney has a guide to all the
benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel that you might find helpful. Take a look at all the great info there, and you'll have everything you need to make your decision!
I hope this helps you plan a magical Walt Disney World vacation, Minienke. Please come see us again if you have any other questions while you're making your plans. We're always here to help!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
