    Hi Amy,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How exciting to be taking your young child to Walt Disney World for the first time! Let me offer you some tips for traveling to Walt Disney World with a preschool-aged child.

First, if you have not yet done so, be sure to make Disney FastPass+ selections. These selections will allow you to experience some attractions with shorter wait times. In order to make Disney FastPass+ selections before you leave home, be sure that you have set up a My Disney Experience account.

With a four-year-old, I suggest that you try to stick as closely as possible to the normal schedule that you have at home. If your child still naps, taking a break in the middle of the day is a good idea. Otherwise, you might have a cranky child later in the day! Also you should consider that a Walt Disney World vacation involves a lot of walking, and you might want to think about bringing or renting a stroller at Walt Disney World, even if your child is rarely in one anymore. This can again help your child to stay rested and happier. I also always carried snacks and drinks in my backpack that I new my daughter liked when she was little. That way, if she got hungry or thirsty, I always had something I knew she would enjoy in easy reach.

Do check out the Walt Disney World website with tips for traveling with preschoolers for more tips and ideas on your vacation with your little one.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Amy! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
