I have a 6 year old with a soy allergy. Can WDW accommodate this? Any suggestions?. Thanks! :)

    Hi Susan!

As a mom to a little Mouseketeer with food allergies, I know the challenge it can be to travel safely. In my experience, Walt Disney World Resort has not only accommodated my son's food allergies, but the Cast Members have gone out of their way to make sure he feels included and special in all of our dining experiences. The Disney Parks Blog just announced that allergy-friendly menus will be rolled out to many quick-service and table-service restaurants. These menus will lay out the safe options for Guests with allergies to common foods. Based on the sample menu, soy will be one of the allergens that is included. These menus are rolling out through the summer and our family is so excited to try them!

Even without allergy-friendly menus, Walt Disney World Resort has done a fantastic job of accommodating our son's allergies. My favorite way to eat during our vacations with our son is at table-service restaurants. We note the special dietary request in our dining reservation and explain the allergy to the server at the restaurant. The chef will come to our table and help us select an item that is both safe and tasty for our son. We even had an amazing chef make our son his own special "bread" out of pizza dough so that our whole family could enjoy bread before our meal and he wasn't left out! For quick-service restaurants, ingredients lists will be at the register and you can also ask for a manager to help you select safe options. Be sure to check out the Special Dietary Requests page for additional information!

Please let me know if you have any other questions! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
