Hi Robin!
I love visiting Walt Disney World (WDW) for my kids' birthdays! We typically visit WDW each year on their birthday and there are so many fun things to do to celebrate!
Prior to arriving, make sure you notate your son's birthday on your reservation and on all Advanced Dining Reservations. Some of the Table Service restaurants offer special treats for birthday celebrations. When we ate at
Cinderella's Royal Table my daughter received a complimentary cupcake with a candle! And when we ate at
California Grille for my birthday I received a slice of cake with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate.
When you check in, inform the Cast Member that it's your son's birthday and ask for a complimentary birthday button. Your son will enjoy hearing greetings of "Happy Birthday" all day long.
You can also arrange for a birthday gift to be delivered to the room ahead of time by calling
Disney Floral & Gifts. You can even arrange for an
In-Room celebration, which comes with a birthday banner on the door and a basket full of goodies.
I definitely suggest making an ADR at a character dining meal, such as Chef Mickey's, so your son can meet the characters and experience a special meal. You can also arrange for a birthday cake to be delivered to the restaurant by calling the cake hotline: 407-827-2253.
I hope your son has a magical birthday!
Magically,
Stacy
