    My 10 year old son and I will be visiting in May and I am having a hard time deciding on which resort to book. I am looking at Wilderness Lodge as a possibility this year, I'm just not sure if the pool area will be exciting enough for him. Please help.

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question!

    Since you are considering staying at a deluxe resort hotel and your 10-year-old son seems to love swimming, I highly recommend Disney’s Beach Club Resort. There are so many things that make this Disney Resort hotel my family’s favorite, but our most beloved feature is Stormalong Bay. 

    Stormalong Bay is a 3-acre water wonderland that really makes you feel like you are at a water park or at the beach – yes, the bottom of the pools is covered in sand so you feel right at the beach. You will be able to enjoy a life-size ship wreck with a great waterslide, pools, lagoons, a lazy river, and whirlpool spas. I must say that my 6-year-old daughter begged us every day to stay at the hotel in the afternoon so she could play in Stormalong Bay – especially the waterslide. She was very upset when we moved to another Disney Resort hotel during that visit, and although it was also a deluxe resort hotel, the pool just did not compare to Stormalong Bay.

    In addition, Disney's Beach Club Resort offers so many great dining venues, like Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. We just loved going there in the afternoon for ice cream while we enjoyed the pool. Breakfast at Cape May Cafe was one of the highlights of our visit and being a 5-minute walk from Epcot and just a short boat ride from Disney’s Hollywood Studios just can’t be beat.
